Legal Advisory Services and Commercial Law Related Transactions

It is our view that effective decision-making in business must be supported by the best possible advice and information.  In this regard we advise on company formation, reorganization, mergers, take-over, winding up, reconstruction, flotation of shares, investment decisions, international trade law, debt restructuring and re-scheduling, credit management among others. Our goal is to give a detailed, structured and authoritative brief as would be required by the client. We also believe that legal services should support business and never should operate or be seen to be bureaucracy.

Litigation

Our position is that the cost and time expended must be justifiable in terms of results. We thus upon obtaining instructions from our client, we review the same and advise our client prior to filing any case in court so as to enable our client make an informed decision. Only when litigation is likely to bear the desired results do we advise our clients to go ahead. In cases where we are required to defend, we immediately upon receipt of instructions, enter appearance and file a holding defence as we await full instructions from the client. This is necessary to avoid ex parte judgment being entered against our client.

Urgent matters are dealt with the utmost speed as the circumstances demand.Where possible, we try to avoid litigation since it takes lots of time and in some instances breaks relationships. With matters in court, we always pursue out of court settlement where possible. However, we are guided all the time by our client's interest and approval.

Conveyance

We have a Conveyance department, which handles the assignments we receive from our clients. Over the years we have acquired the requisite expertise in this field. We have been involved in conveyances in all land regimes in Kenya (that is different acts of parliament governing land in Kenya) and are quite comfortable handling any land transaction, which include sale and purchase of land, charges, discharge of charges, mortgages, sub-divisions, transfers and transmissions and other related areas. We believe in timeous transactions to facilitate the economic need that necessitate land transactions.

General Consultancy

All our Advocates have exposure in commercial work, human rights advocacy and international law consultancy. With this background, we offer a wide range of general consultancy in the form of legal feasibility studies, specialized opinions and inter-disciplinary advice.

Organizational Management & Company Secretarial

The Management of the firm is centralized and is done by the Managing Partner.  He is in charge of the day to day affairs of the Firm and is available for consultation by clients on short notice.  We have got an in-house Certified Public Secretary who is on standby to advise on aspects of Company Management and Secretarial Practice.
